Bernard Silver

Bernard Silver, CPA, began his career with a Big Four firm and then moved on to join Druckman and Hill, LLP where he served for more than 35 years. He was the managing partner of the firm prior to its merger with The Resnick Group in 2005. Bernie remains an integral part of the firm’s leadership team, serving as Counsel and continuing to work closely with clients, most especially reviewing financial statements and in the role of expert witness where he is frequently asked to apply his particular expertise across several industries. In that capacity he shares his business knowledge and industry experiences to add value to closely-held, family-owned businesses.

Throughout his illustrious career, Bernie has received numerous honors and accolades for his charitable initiatives and philanthropic activities. Bernie is the founder of "The Silver Medal Challenge" - a walk/run that raises funds for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). In September 2004, Bernie and his wife Janice were honored for their efforts on behalf of CCFA. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Temple Beth Am in Aberdeen, New Jersey where he and his family have been members since 1972. He was honored by the Banking and Finance Division of the State of Israel Bonds in May 1999 and The Needlers Foundation in June 2003. He is a member of American ORT's Circle of 1,000 and is also on the executive Council there, the Decorum Manhattan Credit Club, The Penn Club, Secretary of The Needlers Foundation, Inc., and the B'nai B'rith Banking and Finance Unit.

Bernie has also been very active in many professional organizations and has served on several boards and committees. In 1999 he was elected to the Board of Directors of Transistor Devices, Inc., a power supply manufacturer. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants.

In addition to a variety of activities within the business community, Bernie has been a guest lecturer and student mentor at Monmouth University where he served for 15 years on the Business Council of the School of Business Administration.

Bernie received his B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania.

Bernie and Janice live in Manalapan, New Jersey. They have three children, daughter Ellen and twin sons Gary and Brian. Ellen and her husband Jim Tannenbaum, Gary and his wife Nancy, and Brian and his wife Shari have blessed them with six grandchildren: Lloyd, Brett, Melanie, Hailey, Justin and Michelle.
