Michael Kappel, CPA, began his career working with small, local firms in New York before joining first Janover, a mid-size firm, and then KPMG. His combined experience working with small and mid-size clients at the local firm and his experience serving major corporations on behalf of a “Big Four” firm enable him to add real value for the firm’s clients. Michael ultimately left KPMG to return to the mid-size firm, Sigmund Balaban, where he has been a partner for eleven years. As a result of the merger between that firm at the Resnick Druckman Group, Michael has now been able to leverage his experience and expertise across a wider range of clients.
With a Masters in Taxation and a law degree, Michael can offer a breadth of local, state, national and international tax services to business owners and a full range of tax services such as estate planning, retirement planning and personal tax strategies for high net worth individuals. He is skilled at helping all entities, from corporations to LLCs to partnerships, as well as assisting with personal tax planning and compliance. He is involved with extensive tax research and assists his clients with strategic planning as well as tax compliance. As an attorney he can also appear before the Internal Revenue Service on behalf of the firm’s clients.
